Another Cracking Weekend

Another cracking weekend at DBFM!

Fridays darkness had many braincells still charged up for Sundays rather mellow/funky/chilledness. The great weather in the UK did not stop our DJ's from closing the curtains and selecting some great choons for us all!

Summer?

Summer is here! (for some of us, for others its winter, but thats hardly my fault) A quick update in the world of DBFM seemed to be a worthy method of celebrating the warm glowly thing in the sky trying to give us all skin cancer.

The schedule is starting to fill up, the regular slots are doing great, Friday darkness has now gotten even more dark than a meeting of the G8 (bit of politics there!) The antidote Sunday selection has started to really gather some pace with a few new Dj's catching in the dbfm cloud wave of recovery! Choon in, its like resting your brain in hammock made of marshmallows

There are a few other surprises over the week, a few new DJ's that getting to grips with new technoligy and as always the IRC channel even has people talking in it :)

Happy Birthday everyone ! We made it to one year old - which means we're getting to the walking/talking stage... that must translate into doing even more damage - so watch out ;)

We're having a party today so please stop in the IRC channel & have a glass of something fizzy... There's plenty of mixin goin on - get your ears round THIS :)

DBFM in your CAR!

I don't know about you but when fate forces me to peel myself off my chair and out into the blinding abyss we call the world, I miss DBFM. So we opened a new R&D department and the Elves have been flogged non-stop to resolve the issue. This is what they came up with...

Things you will need...
a) Car or Feet (to leave your house with)
b) Mobile Phone (windows mobile is best. but i am sure "there is a app for that" shoutcast)
c) Pure Highway (either old clunky one or new flash one)
d) The ability to swear a lot when it don't work.

Here is my setup anyway...
HTC HD
GSPlayer (Great Shoutcast player for WinMobile, Free too)
Pure Highway

Usage: switch on phone, enter the DBFM stream in GSPlayer and connect that to the Pure Highway box, which in turn streams (via FM) to your car stereo.

Taaaaadaaaaaa, easy as that!

DIRTYCASTS: Fresh off the turntables comes the new podcast from DVH, mixing up a fresh dubstep selection.. Grab it from the DirtyCast page, or better still subscribe to the MP3 or OGG podcast feed and get the dirtycasts delivered direct! FEATURED ARTISTS: Some new stuff on the site since last posting, we've added four new artists in thefeatured artists section.. click the link, and check them out - they're all unsigned artists and need your support. NeuralNET is regularly playing their Choons in the Sunday selection, so you have another chance to hear their stuff.

DBFM has been dragged kicking and screaming into the twitter age (well Neural has, Nidoh was already there).. Given how often DJ's play that aren't on the schedule, we're using Twitter to update you all on who is playing when and what genre. Follow Dirtybassfm on Twitter and using a twitter client you'll get real-time updates for when you can't be in IRC - how cool is that ?! Talking of cool stuff, make sure you head into the IRC channel & check out the hard work that Nidoh has been doing on the bot (try !cur if you don't believe me !)

DBFM Newsflash

DBFM - We're still here !!

We are glad to announce that DBFM is here to stay.. Although fewer posts than usual, mainly cos a few of the regular DJ's (Antha & NeuralNET) have been having technical and connection issues recently so missed a few shows.. but we're very glad to announce the return of a favourite DJ of ours - Toes (Coba in the forums) Welcome back mate! Swings and roundabouts eh? Keep an eye on the schedule to see when his regular slot is confirmed. Antha (Shooey) is back online, and with a bit of luck Neural might just get his controller back at some point this century.

On top of this, we've also moved IRC servers.. Hopefully Vision-IRC will prove more stable than absurd. Amsterdamaged...

Long-time DBFM (and several revisions before that ;) stalwart, Shooey breaks a DirtyCast leg with this summer inspired selection of niceness drum and bass. I'm amazed it's taken this long to prise a mix out of him.. It's worth waiting for though! (p.s. No, he is not wearing a dress mixing this.. honest.)

This weeks DirtyCast is a bit late hitting the server, thanks to a superb weekender hosted by Shooey himself laying waste to the DBFM crew in attendance.. Cheers Boss, Tidy darts!

Neural is out of the country so no new DirtyCasts for a week or so.. Expect a stormer on his return tho' :D
